The Quality & Safety Administrative Fellowship is a one-year position designed for postgraduate individuals interested in an executive career in healthcare and provides the opportunity for advanced learning in quality and patient safety. The position will include opportunities for experiential learning through the completion of projects in patient safety, clinical quality, and financial analysis, as well as other project work and shadowing through departmental rotations. The fellows will work closely with the Mercy Quality & Safety team and other Mercy leaders. It requires the ability to analyze healthcare data, proficiency with analytical tools, use of presentation software, and a strong commitment to and affinity for delivering the highest level of performance on quality metrics.

Other Allied Health professions are health care professions distinct from nursing, pharmacy, radiology, laboratory and rehab/therapy. Teamwork is vital in these roles as you work with different healthcare team members and co-workers to provide direct patient care. Most of these positions do require a certification or license where you will be able to apply your expertise to treat and rehabilitate our patients of all ages. Together with other healthcare providers and support staff you will deliver direct patient care, rehabilitation, treatment, nutritional guidance and health improvement interventions. These roles provide you with a wonderful opportunity to make a difference and serve our patients and families.
Positions in this category include (but not limited to):
A shadow/observation experience is for participants at least 16 years of age for observation only without any hands-on interaction with a patient, medical equipment, medical records, computer access, and will not enter an area of contamination such as isolation rooms, soiled linen areas, etc. It is limited to 40 hours or less (within one year) and you are not required to be enrolled in school. To be considered for a Mercy shadow/observation experience, all requirements must be submitted atleast 3 weeks priorto the requested shadow start date. Individual Learning Experience:
An individual learning experience is a hands-on experience (either clinical or non-clinical). Participants must be at least 18 years of age or participating in a program with an Academic Affiliation Agreement on file with Mercy. This experience requires you to be enrolled in a school program unless you are seeking an unpaid internship or are a professional approved to do research at Mercy.
