Vaccine Support Positions

Mercy has just launched NEW temporary vaccination positions across our service area to assist with the support and administration of the COVID-19 vaccine. These non-benefit eligible roles offer flexible scheduling options and could continue for up to six months, with the opportunity for you to transition into a full-time position! In this role, you'll be responsible for checking in patients or registering them for vaccination. 

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent 
Preferred Experience: Two years customer service and insurance/registration experience preferred
Other: Basic computer skills helpful, data entry training will be provided
Locations: Multiple Mercy locations

You'll perform various activities in support of patient care staff, including monitoring patients for adverse reactions post-vaccination. You may perform technical skills for patients such as obtaining vital signs and transferring patients. This role also assists in unit operational support tasks or duties such as restocking supplies and retrieving equipment as directed by patient care staff. Applicants should be able to work well with other co-workers and support all functions as requested and required. 

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent AND one or more of the following:
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing and have completed fundamentals of nursing course
  • Active CNA license in appropriate state
  • EMT or paramedic license
  • Recent CNA, PCT or medical assistant experience
  • RN or LPN license
Certification: CPR

​​​​​​​Vaccinator
As part of our clinical vaccine distribution team, you will be primarily responsible for COVID-19 vaccine administration in our Mercy facilities. You'll work cooperatively with others as part of a team and perform both clinical and non-clinical tasks essential to patient care. This position may be filled by RNs, LPNs, or Medical Assistants with applicable experience.

Required Education: 
  • RN & LPN – Graduate of an accredited school of nursing OR
  • Medical Assistant – High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited medical assistant program
License: 
  • RN & LPN – Current, unencumbered registered nurse's license in state of practice OR
  • Medical Assistant – CMA/RMA through a recognized accredited MA program
Certification: Current BLS certification through the AHA
Other: Epic experience helpful, but not required
