Oklahoma City

Mercy OKC’s unique Residency provides a supportive transition from school to confident nursing practice. New graduate nurses begin in the Learning Center with a mix of classroom learning, simulations, shadowing and department-based orientation. Following their Learning Center experience, residents continue orientation, mentored and supported 1:1 by their unit preceptor. Learning Center support continues throughout the first year, through scheduled seminars and classes with peers and experts centered on shaping your professional career.

Ada

New Grads receive a 12-week orientation where you are paired with 1–2 nurse preceptors to learn a variety of units and nursing styles. Your progressive orientation works up gradually to your 4-5 patient load with frequent 1:1 check in’s with your nursing leader.​​​​​​​

Ardmore

Our new grad nurse orientation program strives to build competence and confidence in your new role at Mercy. As a new grad nurse you will participate in a minimum of a 12 week orientation within your unit.  We will partner you with a nurse preceptor and Clinical Nurse Specialist for individual support and weekly check-ins.​​​​​​​

Mercy's unique Fellowship Program allows you to expand your critical thinking, develop confidence in your communication skills, and become a competent professional nurse in a chosen specialty. You'll go through 8 – 16 weeks of classroom learning, clinical training and 1:1 mentoring, led by advanced nurse clinicians who are experts in their fields.

Springfield

Springfield's Residency Program is designed to facilitate a smooth transition from student to nurse. You'll orient as a nurse on your unit with special sessions to discuss experiences with your peers and work on a Quality Improvement Project. The program provides a foundation for you to safely practice as a nurse through tailored learning pathways, didactic lectures, online modules, simulated learning and hands-on training with bedside caregivers.

Ft. Smith

Mercy's Ft. Smith Nurse Residency Program will assist with a successful transition from a new graduate nurse to a well-prepared, confident, and committed professional nurse. It will provide education and support to new grad nurses while developing their clinical decision-making abilities and knowledge. Monthly classes lead up to an evidence-based project that is presented at the end of the year.
